I’ve been following a page called “Traces of Texas” on Facebook for a while now. If you’re at all interested in either Texas or old photography I highly recommend it.
The page admin (I’m not sure who this is) posts old photos of Texas and its people several times daily. The timeframe of the photos often extends back into the late 1800s.
Photos posted on the page come from various sources including museums and municipal collections, as well as from fans of the Traces of Texas page. This means that you’re likely to see photos that you wouldn’t otherwise have access to.
Traces of Texas has a website but it hasn’t been updated since 2011 so I won’t link to it; just search for “Traces of Texas” on Facebook, where it is alive and well. If you’ve read this far, chances are you will find the photos shared on that page interesting.
