This is not my first time in New York, but I do not know the city well. So why not walk?
Strolling up Broadway from the World Trade Center, luggage in tow, I slowly drifted away from the quick deli-and-cafe glass office and federal building streets into a steady crescendo of clothing shops, swarming tourists, demanding graffiti, resting street vendors, and polychromatic chaos.
Somewhere in there I came across Uniqlo and Muji. Why I wandered into both of these shops, I do not know; they are ubiquitous in Japan. I suppose I wanted to see what they look like in English.
A Uniqlo t-shirt priced with a dollar sign looks downright foreign to me.
